Toast a few cumin seeds in a dry pan and the smell should turn smoky and nutty within seconds, sharper than what most packaged jeera gives off. That intensity comes from the seed's essential oil, and it's strongest right after harvest, before storage and time wear it down.

Our Jodhpur Cumin (Sabut Jeera) is grown in the semi-arid sandy loam of Jodhpur, Rajasthan spices, where low humidity and intense sunshine concentrate more oil into each seed than most other cumin-growing regions in India. It's part of our Whole Spices range, available in 40 gm, 100 gm, and 250 gm.

Cumin has been used in Indian and Ayurvedic kitchens for generations, valued as a digestive aid and warming spice, often added to buttermilk or tempered into dishes to help with digestion after a heavy meal.
