Our Pratapgarh Poppy Seeds (Khus Khus) are grown in the fertile lands of Pratapgarh, Rajasthan. Khus khus refers to white poppy seeds harvested from the poppy seeds plant, Papaver somniferum, and is unrelated to khas khas grass (vetiver) despite the similar name. Because this plant is also called the opium poppy, some shoppers search for these as opium seeds. The ripe seeds are a kitchen spice. Opium comes from the sap of the unripe seed pod, not from the seeds. It's part of our Whole Spices range, packed in 100 gm.
